After 2016 the Cheltenham post-hardcore outfit simply stopped showing up — no farewell, no final record, just the quiet end of one of UK underground’s most quietly beloved acts. The ones who caught them live or wore out Are We All the Same Distance Apart never quite let go.
Now, a decade later, they’re coming back — and the “I Still Hear You” tour brings them to Berlin.
Formed in 2009, Crooks built their name on the collision of melodic hardcore and post-hardcore: Josh Rogers’ clean, soaring vocals set against riffs that turn on a dime from tender to crushing. Their 2015 debut full-length Are We All the Same Distance Apart (Equal Vision Records) remains a touchstone of the era, and the band shared stages with the likes of Coheed and Cambria and Glassjaw before stepping away.
This is one of those shows that doesn’t come around twice. If you missed them the first time, this is the second chance nobody expected.
